The Tease: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey in the barbering<\/strong> <\/strong>industry?<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandi LaShay: <\/strong>My name is Brandi LaShay. Mother, woman, barber, educator, sister, daughter, writer, author, explorer and daughter of the King. It\u2019s been a colorful journey to say the least. I began this journey 30 years ago by picking up a pair of clippers and never putting them down. As an African-American woman in the barbering industry, my journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Entering a field traditionally dominated by men, I was driven by a passion for the craft and a desire to create spaces where everyone feels welcome. Over the years, I\u2019ve honed my skills, built a loyal clientele, and established a barbershop that serves as a community hub \u2014 a place where stories are shared, healing takes place and connections are made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How did you first get connected with Booksy and how has it impacted your business?<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brandi LaShay: <\/strong>I was approached by Booksy in Orlando for a Barber battle that took place during the halftime of the Orlando Magic game. Booksy had a booth set up to help encourage other industry leaders to try a new way of booking their appointments, and had their representatives meet with me for lunch prior to the start of the game. They showed me their platform and how it worked and reassured me that they could help me to not only organize my schedule with my clients, but could significantly increase my sales.
